5 Must-See Bands at Live at Leeds 2018

With the Live at Leeds just around the corner, Music and Gigs have picked out five ‘must see’ bands that you need to look out for at this year’s festival.

ANTEROS

The London based four-piece went from strength to strength in 2017, with support slots for Two Door Cinema Club and Blaenavon, and the release of their debut EP ‘Drunk’. Their bright, funky, dream pop tunes along with lead singer Laura’s empowering vocals and stunning performance makes a set from Anteros an unmissable one. You may even get to join in a girl party and get on the stage yourself during ‘Bonnie’.

BLAENAVON

One of MAG’s favourite bands, Blaenavon will be playing their first live date of 2018 at this year’s Live at Leeds and we can’t wait. Playing a mix of hauntingly beautiful tracks such as ‘Prague 99’, and others like ‘Monte Carlo Kid’ that you just can’t help dancing to, this band never fail to put on an incredible performance for their audience. Watch out for bassist Frank’s impressive dance moves during the set.

BLOXX

Fresh from their latest support tours with The Wombats and Pale Waves, four-piece indie band Bloxx truly know how to put on a show. With incredibly catchy songs and funky melodies, this band are destined for greatness in the alternative music scene, and their newest single ‘Novocain’ has had us hooked since its release. Make sure you check them out at Live at Leeds 2018 to hear them play an exciting set of their hits, and maybe even some new and unreleased tracks.

PALE WAVES

The popularity of Manchester based band Pale Waves appears to be growing by the second, and we are not surprised. Their infectious, dark pop infused tracks with lead singer Heather Baron Gracie’s stunning vocals have took the world of alternative music by storm. Songs such as ‘Heavenly’ from their recent ‘All the Things I Never Said’ EP prove that Pale Waves are a band to watch, and a real ‘must see’ at Live at Leeds 2018.

PEACE

After a two-year hiatus, Peace are back and better than ever. Known for their indie rock anthems with incredible crescendos of guitar playing, such as the iconic one featured in ‘1998 (Delicious)’, this band know how to get a crowd on their feet. The recent release of the beautifully honest ‘From Under Liquid Glass’ just proves that everything that Peace touches turns to gold. If you want to dance and some incredible music too, check out Peace at this year’s festival.
