Tash Sultana is coming home. The Melbourne-raised multi-instrumentalist has announced a seven-date “up close and personal” tour across New Zealand and Australia for April and May 2027, and it lands alongside a brand new single, ‘Something In The Water’, out now via BMG Australia.
The New Zealand leg opens the tour, with shows at Auckland’s Powerstation on Friday 23 April and Wellington’s Meow Nui on Sunday 25 April, both 18+. From there Tash heads to Australia for Thirroul’s Anita’s Theatre (1 May), Sydney’s Enmore Theatre (4 May), Melbourne’s Forum (7 May), Adelaide’s Hindley St Music Hall (10 May) and Perth’s Astor Theatre (13 May), wrapping the run in mid-May. Frontier Members get first access to tickets from Monday 28 September at midday local time, with general sale following Tuesday 29 September at 1pm local time.
Tash marked the announcement with a message to fans:
“Australia and New Zealand, I am coming home. Are you ready? Better get your tickets now as these up close and personal shows are going to sell out FAST!”
The tour lands as Tash steps into a new chapter, with fresh global management and a new recording deal with BMG feeding into a forthcoming album. ‘Something In The Water’ is the first taste of it: warm, unhurried guitar work and vocals that shift from soft to full-throated, before opening out into an extended instrumental stretch in its back half, the kind of solo-built soundscape Tash has built a career on. They described the song as a way of processing a genuinely turbulent stretch:
“For a little while, I lost my way. I had to step back, strip everything away and find the road home to myself. Over the past year and a half, my life has changed in ways I never could have imagined. Now, I’m turning the page and letting go of everything that no longer belongs to me – old relationships, former versions of myself, the image of who I thought I had to be, and the direction I thought my career should take. The past is the past. This is the sound of releasing it – and stepping into whatever comes next.”
It’s been a genuinely singular rise. Tash started out busking on Melbourne’s streets before building a career almost entirely on their own terms, handling more than 20 instruments, working a signature looping style, and racking up billions of streams and more than a million tickets sold worldwide along the way. They’ve broken attendance records at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena and Sidney Myer Music Bowl and LA’s Shrine Auditorium, and sold out Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre in five minutes, three separate times. Their collaborator list stretches just as wide, including Snoop Dogg, Anderson .Paak, The Chainsmokers, Bonobo, Milky Chance and Matt Corby, along with New Zealand’s own SIX60 and L.A.B.
