Christchurch is set to host one of its largest outdoor music events of the summer season as UK grime icon Dizzee Rascal brings his celebrated We Want Bass Tour to Cathedral Square on Wednesday, 9 December 2026. Presented by Fuzen and Sub180, the event marks the legendary artist’s first-ever headline concert in Christchurch. Joining him on the billing as a special guest is UK rap standout ArrDee.
The show brings together two distinct generations of British urban music, pairing one of grime’s founding figures with one of contemporary UK rap’s most prominent chart-toppers.
The upcoming performance promises a high-production, bass-heavy outdoor experience featuring the songs that helped define the UK grime and mainstream crossover eras. Attendees can expect a career-spanning set list packed with massive UK No. 1s and club anthems, including ‘Bonkers’, ‘Dance Wiv Me’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Fix Up, Look Sharp’, ‘Dirtee Cash’, and ‘Bassline Junkie’.
Dizzee Rascal first reshaped the trajectory of British music at just 18 years old with his groundbreaking 2003 debut album, Boy in da Corner. The record earned the prestigious Mercury Prize and established the structural foundations for grime as a global genre. Over his multi-decade career, he has secured a BRIT Award for Best British Male Artist and delivered major global collaborations alongside producers such as Calvin Harris, Armand Van Helden, and Shakira.
Special Guest: UK Rap Star ArrDee
Adding major weight to the line-up is Brighton-born rapper ArrDee, who rapidly rose to international prominence following his breakout feature verse on the chart-topping ‘Body (Remix)’. Since his debut, ArrDee has built a formidable catalogue of hit singles, including ‘Oliver Twist’, ‘Flowers (Say My Name)’, and ‘War’ featuring Aitch.
His debut mixtape, Pier Pressure, debuted at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart, becoming the highest-streaming UK mixtape of that year. ArrDee has maintained his momentum through high-energy releases, including the multi-genre hit ‘Liquor & Cigarettes’ alongside Chase & Status and Hedex.
