Twelve years is a long time to wait. But Avenged Sevenfold are finally coming back to Australia and New Zealand, and Live Nation has today confirmed a four-date arena run this October that is going to make a lot of metal fans very happy indeed.
The tour kicks off at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on October 16, heads to Brisbane Entertainment Centre on October 18, Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on October 20, before crossing the Tasman to Spark Arena in Auckland on October 23. Special guests on all dates are Coheed and Cambria and Australian heavy metal band Thornhill — a lineup that, by any measure, represents a seriously stacked night out.
For those who’ve seen Avenged Sevenfold live before, you’ll already know what’s coming. For those who haven’t — they are one of the most spectacular live acts in heavy metal, full stop. The kind of show that reminds you why seeing a band in an arena can still feel enormous and immediate at the same time. It’s been twelve years since their last visit to this part of the world, and they’ve spent much of that time cementing their status as one of the genre’s most important and beloved acts.

The band’s ticketing system for this tour is worth knowing about. They’ve implemented a verification-based rewards platform through their Deathbats Club and Deathbats Rewards system, designed specifically to protect genuine fans from bots, scalpers and dynamic pricing. Deathbats Rewards is a free loyalty programme — fans earn points through streaming, buying merch and attending shows. It’s a smart system and one that puts proven fans first.
Presales run from Tuesday April 14, with Westpac Mastercard holders in New Zealand getting access from Wednesday April 15. General on-sale is Friday April 17 at 11am local time.
