Alt-rock five-piece Culture Wars have just dropped their punchiest track yet, “Bittersweet”, and it’s got all the drama, hooks, and big-stage energy of a band building toward something massive. Think emotional turbulence, cathartic choruses, and lyrics that hit a little too close to home, all wrapped in a sound that feels destined for arenas.

Out today, “Bittersweet” lands as the latest chapter in what’s been a breakout year for the band. They’ve opened for Keane, Wallows, and LANY, climbed into the Top 20 at U.S. Alternative Radio with their track “It Hurts,” and clocked over 8 million streams on their single “Typical Ways.” Now they’re heading across the pond, with their first-ever UK headline show locked in for 27 November at O2 Academy Islington in London.
Frontman Alex Dugan describes the new single as a kind of personal reckoning, “getting what you want, but never on the terms you thought.” He says: “Most things in my life have been ‘yes but…’, but that’s life. Bittersweet.” He adds that the song is about learning to roll with the punches, finding clarity in the chaos, and realising most of our mental spiral is just noise. “The truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.”
The band’s debut album, titled if not now, when?, is due in early 2026, and if “Bittersweet” is any indication, they’re aiming big, both sonically and emotionally. Their live shows have already proven they can bring that scale to the stage, with recent sold-out headline gigs in Los Angeles and New York drawing serious fan energy.
If you’re in London and haven’t seen them live yet, this is your shot.
Tickets for their 27 November London show are available now, alongside new U.S. dates in Houston (5 Dec) and Chicago (6 Dec), added after their previous sets sold out.
