From Messy to The Art of Loving
Dean’s 2023 debut Messy earned her Mercury Prize recognition and BRIT nominations, while singles like Dive and The Hardest Part cemented her as one of the UK’s brightest new voices. With Nice to Each Other already breaking through on social media ahead of The Art of Loving, it’s the perfect time to revisit our deep dive into Olivia Dean’s story and why she is about to take over now.
With The Art of Loving, she shifts her focus inward, exploring the textures of everyday intimacy, less spectacle, more honesty. Lead singles Man I Need and Nice to Each Other have already set the tone: diaristic detail, featherlight production, and her signature emotional generosity.
A rising star in full stride
Dean’s Laneway Festival slot earlier this year gave NZ fans a glimpse of her quiet magnetism on stage, but 2026 promises something much bigger. This is an artist who’s gone from Jools Holland’s Hootenanny to headlining arenas in under three years, balancing critical acclaim with mass connection.
Whether you’re there for the heartbreak ballads, the diary-entry intimacy, or just to be in the presence of one of neo-soul’s brightest stars, this tour is set to be unforgettable.
