Australian metalcore titans The Amity Affliction are back with their highly anticipated ninth studio album, House of Cards, out now. Alongside the release, the band has announced a massive UK and European headline tour for autumn 2026, featuring support from Silent Planet, Varials, and Orthodox.
House of Cards marks a pivotal chapter for the four-piece, serving as their first record featuring new clean vocalist Jonny Reeves. Reeves’ addition brings fresh dynamic chemistry to the band, pairing effortlessly with frontman Joel Birch’s visceral screams on standout tracks such as “BREAK THESE CHAINS,” “SWAN DIVE,” and “REAP WHAT YOU SOW.”
Musically and lyrically, the record stands among the band’s heaviest and most personal offerings to date. Birch lays bare his experiences navigating grief, childhood trauma, and religious hypocrisies.
“If it isn’t about my mother specifically, it is about things that I have experienced that are directly tied to my experience growing up and where that has landed me now… ‘Break These Chains’ is directly tied to that and the confusion I felt when dealing with my mother dying, while ‘Speaking In Tongues’ is about the hypocrisy of my mother sending me off to church constantly throughout my life.” — Joel Birch
The album also features previously released singles “BLEED,” “HEAVEN SENT,” and the blistering track “KICKBOXER,” which Birch wrote after guitarist Dan Brown sampled dialogue from the Jean-Claude Van Damme film of the same name.
The band will bring these intense new tracks, and their legendary live energy, to UK shores this October, stopping at iconic venues in Manchester, London, Nottingham, and Bristol.
