Entitled “Fathers & Sons,” this profoundly personal compilation is set to release on June 14th via Columbia Nashville, and it’s open for pre-ordering. Combs has already given us a taste with a new track, “The Man He Sees In Me,” a touching collaboration with Josh Phillips.
“Fathers & Sons” comprises 12 moving tracks, all recorded live, showcasing Combs’ most intimate songwriting yet. The album delves into his journey as a father of two boys, spotlighting the unique bond between parents and their offspring.
In a heartfelt message to his sons, Combs expressed:
“To my boys, above all, my love for you will always endure, no matter what. Through this song, I want you to understand that even though I’m not flawless, every day I strive to be the best version of myself for both of you. Combs isn’t traversing this journey alone. This collaboration promises an authentic, rich sound that perfectly complements Combs’ heartfelt lyrics.
Earlier this year, Combs delivered a breathtaking rendition of “Fast Car” alongside Tracy Chapman at the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Rolling Stone hailed it as “one of the all-time best collaborative performances in Grammy history.” The triumph of “Fast Car” continued as Combs’ rendition secured Single of the Year at both the 2024 ACM Awards and the 2023 CMA Awards. The song also dominated the charts, reigning for five consecutive weeks atop Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and reaching #1 on the Hot AC chart – a remarkable feat for a male solo artist.
In addition to his musical accolades, Combs recently concluded an epic sold-out World Tour, which included two unforgettable evenings at London’s O2 Arena. The tour spanned 44 shows across 16 countries, setting new benchmarks for a country artist.
