Noah Kahan: Grammy Nominee Drops ‘Forever’ as Stick Season Ends

It’s not everyday that an artist releases an album with 30 tracks on it! Well singer songwriter Noah Kahan has done just that.

The album Stick Season series is coming to an end with this final release Stick Seasons (Forever) which includes the new song aptly titled “Forever” and 2 new collaborations this time with Brandi Carlile and Gregory Alan Isakov. Noah isn’t afraid of a collaboration with the album taking new heights as the collaborations took the social media world by storm. I went through a period where every other song on Tiktok was a Kahan Collab, not that I’m complaining. Previous collaborations featuring Kacey Musgraves, Post Malone, Hozier, Sam Fender, Gracie Abrams, and Lizzy McAlpine.

Upon the release of this final version Noah took to social media to share some words about his experience with the album “Forever is a long time. This album cycle has felt like forever, and I’ve loved every second of it. I have loved living in this world. I have never felt more comfortable in my own skin, more proud of what I was representing in my songwriting and more vindicated by the response to a record that was really an extension of my soul”. And that is exactly what it feels like to listen to his music, his songwriting is so raw and bare which is why his music has connected with so many people. Noah has been open about his struggles with anxiety and depression, he even raised $2 million dollars as part of his The Busyhead Project which aims to make mental healthcare acceptable and accessible to everyone.

He mentioned that music was some of the only times he felt connected to anyone “I’d hear a song that felt like its lyrics were ripped straight from my heart and my experience and for 3 or 4 minutes I felt less alone and less afraid.” His latest release “Forever” follows that desire to share and make people feel less alone with his songwriting. With lines such as  “Used to wish I meant anything to anywhere, to anyone” he shares his internal struggle that a lot of people can related to but he then follows up with the optimistic self talk that although perhaps things aren’t going how you’d want them to now there is hope if you keep going on.

“I won’t be alone for the rest of my life

I’ll build a boat for when the river gets high

And I’ll meet a girl in the heat of July

And I’ll tell her so she knows

That I’m broke, but I’m real rich in my head”

It’s this songwriting and infectious folk-pop, rock alternative music that got Noah a grammy nomination for best new artist which Noah decided to take his mum as a date to. And with tracks like “Dial Drunk”, “Stick Season”, “Call your mom” and “Northern Attitude” we can see why.

Unfortunately the Noah Kahan tour isn’t making its way to New Zealand just yet but we are hoping that it won’t be too long until that changes. In the meantime why not build up a noah kahan top hits playlist and hope for the day we get a Noah Kahan NZ tour. Noah will be touring the United States, Canada, UK and Europe with his album.
