Bino Bames Gets Brutally Honest on ‘Nothing’s Real’

Some artists are born to colour outside the lines, Bino Bames is one of them. At just 20, he’s already swerving industry expectations, turning raw vulnerability into jagged, late-night indie anthems. And today, he’s back with a brand new track Nothing’s Real, a beautifully bruised slice of post-everything pop, and news of his debut EP Gathers No Moss, dropping 29th October.

Neon nostalgia meets post-punk panic

Nothing’s Real sounds like The Strokes went out for cigarettes and came back as holograms. It’s a clash of 2000s indie guitar shimmer and Joy Division-esque dread, but filtered through Bino’s own brand of glitchy, DIY weirdness. Vocals bend and blur into digital static while his lyrics dig deep into the messiness of relationships, where honesty gets buried under awkward silences and slow-burn resentment.

“I get annoyed when someone’s not honest with what they want… I’m guilty of it too,”

“Sometimes it’s hard to find the courage to be honest—even when it’s for the best.”

It’s the kind of line that makes you wince a little… mostly because it’s uncomfortably true.

From the Vegas Strip to the UK underground

Raised in the hyperreal glare of Las Vegas, Bino left home at 15 and never really stopped moving—New York, LA, Portland—soaking up scenes, stories and sounds that eventually settled into the sonic patchwork of Gathers No Moss. If Nothing’s Real is anything to go by, expect an EP that stitches together outsider indie, lo-fi grit and warped emotion into something raw and real.

He’s not just making music, though. He’s building a world. Bino writes, produces, plays every instrument, directs his videos, and designs his own artwork. Think Daniel Johnston’s sincerity meets Spike Jonze’s visual flair, wrapped in the slightly chaotic energy of Mac Miller in a thrifted Vivienne Westwood tee.

Fashion week fits & festival slots

Following a string of buzzy singles (Cocktail Princess, Isolated) and a summer spent lighting up UK festivals, Bino’s already earned nods from tastemakers like Clash, Wonderland, and The Line of Best Fit. He’s also becoming a fixture on the fashion circuit, spotted in front rows from Milan to London, quietly giving “rockstar off-duty” without the try-hard.

Next up? A string of live shows, including a slot at Lock-In Festival and two uni tour support dates with Villanelle. If you’re into emotionally intelligent mosh pits and possibly crying to indie bangers, clear your calendar.
