She’s back and softer than ever. Olivia Dean has officially announced her second album, The Art of Loving, landing 26th September via Capitol Records. It follows the breakout success of Messy, but this time? She’s levelling up the vulnerability, letting us into every kind of love – romantic, platonic, and the hardest love of all: self.

Alongside the announcement, she’s dropped a brand new single, Nice To Each Other, and it’s giving all the soul-drenched, emotionally intelligent energy we’ve come to expect. (If you haven’t already, read our full track review of Nice To Each Other.

And with a headline show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 11th June? Yeah, this new era’s about to glow.

If Olivia’s debut Messy was her “this is me” moment, then The Art of Loving is the grown-up, deep-feels sequel. She’s turning the lens inward, unpacking what it means to give and receive love in all its complicated, chaotic forms.

Dean describes the album as “tender” and “intentional”—two words that perfectly fit the way she weaves through intimacy without ever being cringey or cliché. Expect soul, space, and storytelling. Basically: it’s the kind of album you’ll want to cry to in your kitchen at 2am, in the best way.

If you’re new to her world, start with our guide on who Olivia Dean is and why she’s one of UK pop’s brightest voices.

Gigs, gigs, gigs – and one very special London show

This isn’t just an album drop—it’s a full Olivia Dean takeover. She’s supporting Sam Fender on multiple stadium dates, linking up with Sabrina Carpenter for BST Hyde Park, and doing her own sold-out North American headline run.

But the real gem? Her underplay at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 11th June. Intimate, historic, and absolutely guaranteed to be one of those “I was there before the arena tour” moments.

Dates you actually need to know:

  • 6th June – London Stadium (supporting Sam Fender)
  • 11th June – Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London (headline)
  • 14–15 June – Newcastle, St James’s Park (w/ Sam Fender)
  • 6th July – BST Hyde Park (supporting Sabrina Carpenter)
  • July–August – North American headline tour (sold out)
  • 16th August – Wythenshawe Park, Manchester (w/ Sam Fender)
  • 22nd August – Royal Highland Showgrounds (w/ Sam Fender)

You can see Olivia Dean’s full tour schedule and ticket info here or just grab tickets for Shepherd’s Bush before they’re gone.

What makes The Art of Loving feel special isn’t just the theme—it’s the timing. Olivia isn’t rushing the algorithm. She’s taking space, telling real stories, and giving us permission to slow down and feel things properly.

She’s said this album is her most personal work yet, and honestly, you can hear it already. From the songwriting to the visuals, everything feels intentional—and unapologetically soft. In a world of hot takes and swipe-right love, that kind of emotional patience is its own little revolution.
