The Cribs Drop New Single ‘A Point Too Hard To Make’ and Announce Massive Leeds Show for 2026

That idea of reconnection sits at the heart of the new album. After two decades of relentless touring, transatlantic living, and legal battles with former labels, the brothers took a step back. No music, no press, no pressure, just time to be family again. The result is Selling A Vibe, their most personal, melodic, and open record yet.

The Cribs are back with a bang. Today, the Jarman brothers dropped their new single A Point Too Hard To Make, and announced a huge outdoor homecoming show at Leeds Millennium Square on 11th July 2026. It’s a decade since they last played that very spot, and this return feels charged with even more meaning.

The new track is full of classic Cribs DNA: chiming guitars, dual vocals and a gut-punch of sentimentality, rooted in years of connection, chaos and survival. It’s the second single from their upcoming ninth album Selling A Vibe, which lands 9th January 2026, their first full-length release in over five years.

Bassist and vocalist Gary Jarman sums it up: “All that 2000s damage, basically. Small-town romantics—years spent longing for connection, escape, excitement—given in abundance, for an entire decade. What do you do when the party is over? Where does it leave you? We’ve still got each other though. That’s what this one is about.”

In the studio, they teamed up with Patrick Wimberly (Solange, MGMT), trading their usual lo-fi grit for something poppier and more expansive. According to Gary, “we’ve fully given ourselves over to that. We don’t want this to be seen as an ‘indie rock’ or ‘punk’ record—we just want people to connect with the songs for what they are.”

The album’s tracklist reads like a journal of hard-won clarity, late-night reflection and brotherly defiance:

  1. Dark Luck
  2. Selling A Vibe
  3. A Point Too Hard To Make
  4. Never The Same
  5. Summer Seizures
  6. Looking For The Wrong Guy
  7. If Our Paths Never Crossed
  8. Self Respect
  9. You’ll Tell Me Anything
  10. Rose Mist
  11. Distractions
  12. Brothers Won’t Break
