Sam Fender Adds Extra Dates to 2024 UK Tour

Sam Fender has announced the addition of extra dates to his highly anticipated ‘People Watching’ tour in 2024, responding to the overwhelming excitement from fans.

After revealing the initial tour details last week, which includes stops in major cities like London, Leeds, and Manchester throughout December, the North Shields artist is set to take his show across Europe with nine more dates in March 2025.

In response to high demand, Fender has added three new performances: one at Manchester’s Co-op Live on December 7, a second night at London’s O2 on December 12, and a concluding performance at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on December 17. Each of these new dates will occur just a day after the originally scheduled shows in those cities.

Tickets for all performances, including the newly announced ones, will go on sale this Friday (October 25) at 10 AM. Notably, £1 from each UK ticket sold will be donated to the Music Venue Trust, which is dedicated to supporting grassroots music venues.

This tour announcement follows a series of teasers from Fender, including a countdown clock on his official website that got fans buzzing. Billboards promoting the tour have also been spotted near significant UK venues, signalling that this marks his first major tour since 2022.

Wunderhorse will join him as a special guest for the UK portion, while CMAT will open for the European shows.

Fender’s pledge to donate £1 from each ticket sale to the Music Venue Trust highlights the urgent need to support the live music scene, which has faced numerous challenges, including a rise in venue closures in 2023. This initiative aligns with actions taken by other artists, such as Enter Shikari and Coldplay, who have committed a percentage of their proceeds to this cause.

This tour will be Sam Fender’s first since spring 2022 and marks his return to London after headlining Finsbury Park in the same year. Since then, he has also headlined festivals like Reading & Leeds in 2023 and Boardmasters earlier this summer.

In addition to the tour details, Fender has hinted at his new single, ‘People Watching,’ encouraging fans to stay tuned for updates. Earlier this month, he confirmed that his third studio album is complete and “mastered,” sharing snippets of new material online. He also released a live version of ‘People Watching,’ which debuted at a recent intimate performance.

In a previous interview, Fender described his upcoming music as deeply personal and focused on storytelling. “I prefer to write from my own experiences and the place I’m in right now, as there’s so much to draw from,” he shared.

Fender is also rumoured to be a potential headliner at Glastonbury Festival in 2025, keeping the excitement high among fans.
