Taylor Swift surprises fans in Europe with new setlist

Taylor Swift’s European leg of her Eras tour has kicked off in style, this time in France, with a revamped setlist that’s sure to excite fans. The star has made some bold changes, cutting several songs and re-structuring the concert to highlight tracks from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Gone are fan favorites like The Archer and The 1, making way for new tunes such as Fortnight and Down Bad. Swift surprised fans not only with her song choices but also with her stunning new outfits, including a sparkling red bodysuit and a black dress with silver tassels.

Taking the stage at La Défense Arena in Paris, Swift enchanted the sold-out crowd, expressing her gratitude for launching the European leg of her tour in the “most beautiful, romantic city in the world.”

The 34-year-old songstress delivered an epic performance, treating fans to a three-hour extravaganza featuring 46 songs spanning her impressive 18-year career. Each set was dedicated to one of her 11 studio albums, showcasing the evolution of her music over the years.

The tour, which began in America last year, has already made waves, with fans energizing local economies and causing seismic activity with their enthusiastic dancing.

Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, may have received mixed reviews, but it shattered sales records in its first week. To accommodate the new material, she condensed her sister albums Folklore and Evermore into a single “Folkmore” chapter.

Fans immediately noticed changes to the lavish stadium show, with updated intro music featuring snippets from The Tortured Poets Department. The surprises continued as Swift omitted The Archer just 15 minutes into the concert, a departure from its traditional placement in previous legs.

Swift also shuffled the sequence dedicated to her Red album, donning a statement t-shirt proclaiming, “This is not Taylor’s version,” a nod to her ongoing campaign to re-record her early albums.

With billowing cream gowns and new black-and-white visuals, Swift delivered an emotional performance of her latest tracks, exploring themes of heartbreak and resilience.

The final segment of the show remained unchanged, featuring hits from her 2022 album Midnights, culminating in the crowd-pleaser Karma.

Swift’s tour has become a cultural phenomenon, rivaling the legendary concerts of Madonna and Michael Jackson. With 152 stadium dates scheduled until December 2024, ticket sales are projected to surpass $1.4 billion, making it the most profitable tour in history.

The excitement continues as Swift’s tour heads to the UK on June 7, with dates in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, and London. Fans can expect an unforgettable experience as Swift brings her electrifying performance to British shores.

In addition to the tour, fans can also get their hands on exclusive Taylor Swift merch, ensuring they have a piece of the experience to cherish forever.
