On September 1st, 2018, Bristol’s renowned Durdham Downs once again hosted the ever-popular Downs Festival, featuring an impressive lineup of headliners Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Paul Weller. The event also highlighted homegrown talent, including performances from The Heavy, Nadine Shah, and Laid Blak.
Paul Weller shared his enthusiasm, stating, “It’s gonna be great to play on The Downs. We always have an amazing crowd in Bristol—see you there!”
Conal Dodds, co-founder of Crosstown Concerts (the event’s co-promoters), echoed the excitement: “Last year’s festival was a huge success, and our 2018 lineup boasts some of the best live acts out there. There’s going to be massive interest in seeing Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller in Bristol. This marks Noel’s first time headlining a show in the city, and we’re thrilled to bring him and his band here. It’s easily the strongest lineup we’ve had at The Downs so far.”
In addition to the music, the festival has partnered with The Big Issue to promote ‘festivals for good.’ This collaboration aims to unite the festival’s shared values by using music, creativity, and community to encourage discussions and turn ideas into positive action.
