Tramlines Festival 2018 Final Day: PINS, Pale Waves, and Tom Grennan Shine

The final day of Tramlines Festival 2018 has come to an end, and it’s safe to say this year’s event has been the biggest and best yet. Sunday’s lineup featured a significant number of female-led bands, marking a positive step towards addressing the gender imbalance at major festivals. Here are the standout acts from the closing day:

PINS

Manchester’s five-piece band PINS delivered a bold and edgy performance that showcased their unique noise-pop sound. Playing fresh tracks like “Bad Thing” and “Serve the Rich,” the band proved their lyrics have grown even catchier since their last release. PINS bring something distinct to the British music scene, filling a gap with their fearless style. With their next album, they seem poised to break into the next level of success.

Pale Waves

Pale Waves, one of the most exciting new bands in the UK, captivated the crowd with their infectious synth-pop hooks and heartfelt lyrics. Frontwoman Heather Baron-Gracie commanded the stage with a magnetic energy, drawing from influences like The Cure and Cocteau Twins. Despite not having released their debut album yet, Pale Waves have already amassed a huge following. Their confidence continues to grow, and with their debut album set to drop in September, it’s shaping up to be one of the year’s most anticipated releases.

Tom Grennan

Bedford’s Tom Grennan has had a monumental year, with a debut album, a world record, and sell-out shows across the globe. His Tramlines set was nothing short of incredible, complete with a live band and backing singers. Fans belted out every word of his hits, from the indie anthem “Found What I’ve Been Looking For” to the emotionally charged “I Might.” Grennan’s stage presence, swagger, and vocal mastery showed why he’s one of the industry’s most reliable performers. His impressive range and work ethic suggest that this is just the beginning of what’s shaping up to be a long and successful career.
