Vic Tayla Releases New Single ‘Glow’: A Funky Indie-Pop Anthem

A new track from Danish indie-pop band Vic Tayla has caught our attention. The four-piece, consisting of Daniel (Keys & Synths), Jonas (Drums & Percussion), David (Bass & Synths), and Jacob (Vocals & Guitar), formed in 2015 in a rehearsal room in Copenhagen. With a passion for British indie culture, their latest track, ‘Glow’, offers a fresh take on their sound.

A New Sound for Vic Tayla

‘Glow’ stands out from the band’s previous releases, like their infectious EP ‘Rose-Coloured Glasses’, which features hits such as ‘Cinema’ and ‘You Say’. According to the band, ‘Glow’ is a bit different: “It’s a pop song that’s funkier and groovier, thanks to the beat and slap bass. The song’s simple structure allows us to let it evolve, layering synths, guitar, and more as it progresses until it all explodes in the end.”

A Story Told Through Music

The lyrics of ‘Glow’ revolve around a familiar scene: nightclubs and bars where alcohol and music fuel the confidence to approach others. With the room dark and the music loud, eye contact becomes the primary way of connecting. Vic Tayla beautifully captures this fleeting moment of connection, as the song represents the raw, unfiltered emotions of pursuing love for a night.

British Indie Vibes

Although Vic Tayla hails from Denmark, ‘Glow’ feels right at home in the British indie music scene. With its layered synths and infectious grooves, it’s clear that the band’s love for British indie culture runs deep. Hopefully, Vic Tayla will grace the UK with live performances soon.
