June 6 is shaping up to be a moment. Bristol’s godfathers of trip-hop, Massive Attack, return to London for their first festival show in the capital in nine years, and they’re not just playing hits — they’re powering a movement.

LIDO Gets Fully Charged — But Make It Sustainable

Let’s talk headliners. Massive Attack aren’t just legends in the game, they’re pioneers of sustainable live music. Their set at LIDO won’t just be a sonic experience; it’ll be a climate statement. Entirely battery-powered, thanks to tech developed with Ecotricity and their Act 1.5 project, it’s another leap toward carbon-free concerts.

If you missed their history-making low-emission show in Bristol last year, this is your second chance, and it’s happening right in Victoria Park.

“To present London’s first ever 100 per cent battery-powered festival day with a dynamic range of artists is an optimum outcome for us,” Del Naja said.

The Line-up: Cult Legends + Rising Icons

Massive Attack headline, of course. But the rest of the bill reads like a carefully curated mixtape of deep cuts and fresh obsessions:

  • AIR – French electro royalty. Expect an otherworldly set, possibly one of their most intimate UK shows in years.
  • Yasiin Bey & The Alchemist as FORENSICS – Yes, that’s Mos Def and The Alchemist. Together. We’re not even ready.
  • Tirzah – BPM’s pick for the night. Minimal. Raw. Hauntingly good.
  • Hunny – South London’s new soulful obsession, just off a sold-out run at The HAC.
  • Everything Is Recorded – The genius-level project from XL Recordings’ Richard Russell. Think genre-fluid alchemy.
  • 47SOUL – Palestinian electronic-folk fusion with political bite.
  • Mad Professor – Dub legend, long-time Massive Attack collaborator.
  • DJ Milo – A founding member of The Wild Bunch and a genre-smashing set guaranteed.

Why This Night Matters

This isn’t just a flex, it’s a vision for the future of festivals. LIDO is setting a new precedent with Massive Attack leading the charge: less emissions, more meaning, still absolutely massive vibes.

It’s also the perfect intro night to a festival that dares to mix genres, generations, and agendas. Think political, but make it euphoric.
