We genuinely didn’t think ‘My Body Isn’t Ready’ had anywhere left to go. It was already one of sombr’s most aching, falsetto-drenched moments, the kind of song that does most of its damage in the quiet parts. Then he went and recorded it live at Sound City with a full orchestra behind him, and somehow, impossibly, made it hit even harder.
The orchestral version doesn’t just dress the song up, it changes the way it lands. Strings swell in under that same fragile vocal, the live room gives everything a warmth the studio original never had, and the whole thing feels bigger without losing what made it so intimate in the first place. It’s the rare reworking that doesn’t just repeat the original’s trick, it finds a new one.

It’s also the latest sign of a genuinely huge year for sombr, off the back of a headline set at Reading & Leeds and his debut album, I Barely Know Her. And he’s not slowing down: he’s just confirmed the You Are the Reason tour, a sprawling run through the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The European leg launches in Oslo on 8 May 2027 and closes out with a night at London’s O2 Arena on 25 June, taking in stops like Stockholm, Berlin, Paris and Amsterdam along the way, with Suki Waterhouse joining for most of the run and Ravyn Lenae and Jessie Maizin supporting select shows. Before that, he’s heading our way: Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney get shows across mid-April 2027, and Auckland’s Spark Arena gets its own date on Tuesday 27 April. Tickets for the Australia and New Zealand shows are already on sale, and tickets for the UK and European run are on sale now too.
If you needed a reason to replay ‘My Body Isn’t Ready’ one more time, this is it.
