Blossoms announce sixth studio album ‘Songs From The Wedding Cake’ and massive UK arena tour

Stockport indie icons Blossoms are back, confirming their sixth studio album Songs From The Wedding Cake will arrive this autumn alongside a stellar new disco-infused single and their biggest UK tour to date.

Stockport’s finest hitmakers Blossoms—comprising Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan, and Myles Kellock—have officially announced their highly anticipated sixth studio album, Songs From The Wedding Cake. Set for release on 2 October via ODD SK / Distiller Records, the major announcement lands alongside a brand new single, ‘Meet Me In Love’, and news of the biggest headline UK arena tour of the band’s career.

The new single serves as a shimmering, romantic contrast to recent release ‘Joke About Divorce’. Built around an irresistible disco groove, ‘Meet Me In Love’ functions as a major standout moment on the upcoming record, boasting backing vocals from fellow British singer-songwriter Declan McKenna.

Frontman Tom Ogden revealed the track came together organically during a songwriting escape to the Lake District alongside Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire.

“We started messing around with a simple two-chord disco groove and, within a couple of hours, the whole thing seemed to fall into place,” Ogden shares. “We later finished the recording with Shawn Lee at Tilehouse Studios, tracking live to tape, but a lot of what made us fall in love with the song in the first place came from that original demo.”

The track arrives with an equally stylish visual counterpart filmed on 16mm tape at Chad’s Theatre in Stockport. Directed by Ogden, the cinematic video continues the narrative universe established in ‘Joke About Divorce’—complete with Callum Scott-Howells returning as the narrator—and features a glittering guest appearance from media personality Maya Jama.

“After meeting Maya Jama at the MTV EMAs in Manchester a couple of years ago, we took a chance and sent her a DM to see if she’d be interested in being involved,” Ogden explains. “Together we created something that feels like a love letter to old Hollywood, 70s disco glamour and classic Top of the Pops performances.”

The album’s title pays affectionate homage to Stockport’s iconic Victorian town hall—famously nicknamed ‘The Wedding Cake’ by locals—which holds personal significance as the venue where Ogden got married. Across its 10-track runtime, the album captures ordinary life experiences and views them through an extraordinary sonic lens, blending 80s-tinged funk, heart-on-sleeve lyricism, and classic indie-dance floor anthems.

The recording sessions at Tilehouse Studios paired the band with producer Shawn Lee (Young Gun Silver Fox). The collaboration was born out of a mutual appreciation after guitarist Josh Dewhurst reached out to Lee, who composed the soundtrack to the video game Bully—a foundational musical influence for Dewhurst. Working live on tape, Lee pushed the group to comfortably lean into the funkier, warmer corners of their signature sound palette.

To celebrate the milestone record, Blossoms will hit the road this November and December for a massive headline arena circuit, joined by special guests The Royston Club. General ticket sales are open now via the band’s official channels.
