Less than a year since their official debut, global girl group KATSEYE has officially landed their first Billboard Hot 100 entry.

On May 13, Billboard confirmed that the group’s latest single “Gnarly” debuted at No. 92 on the Hot 100 chart, marking a major milestone in their fast-moving rise. The track also landed at No. 39 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 47 on the Billboard Global 200, while the group re-entered the Emerging Artists chart at No. 11.

Formed via HYBE x Geffen’s 2023 reality show Dream Academy, KATSEYE is a multinational six-member group made up of Manon, Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae, with members hailing from the U.S., South Korea, the Philippines, and Switzerland. Since debuting in June 2024 with “Debut”, they’ve been carving out their own lane — blending K-pop training with a Western pop rollout, and styling guided by fashion legend Humberto Leon.

Their breakthrough moment came with “Touch”, which picked up momentum thanks to a viral TikTok challenge. That buzz led into their first EP SIS (Soft Is Strong) and an Asian tour — but it’s “Gnarly” that’s clearly tipped them into mainstream territory.

Released on April 30, “Gnarly” is the lead single from their upcoming second EP Beautiful Chaos, set to drop on June 27. With co-signs from producers like Ryan Tedder and Omer Fedi, and a sound that walks the line between hyperpop, R\&B, and electronic pop, the track’s Hot 100 entry is a strong indicator of what’s to come.

KATSEYE is also confirmed for Lollapalooza Chicago 2025 and recently played Wango Tango, showing that the U.S. is very much on their radar — and the industry is watching.

Whether you’ve been following them since Dream Academy or just now clocked the name thanks to Billboard, KATSEYE’s trajectory is clear: they’re not just a global girl group — they’re a global pop force in the making.
