SACHI, Bag Raiders & NO CIGAR Hit Centre Court

Centre Court Sounds is quietly becoming one of Auckland’s most distinct summer events. Centre Court Sounds is quietly becoming one of Auckland’s most distinct summer events. Slotted in just after the ASB Classic and just before autumn kicks in, the February 21st showcase returns to the Manuka Doctor Arena with a refreshed setup, a tighter capacity, and a sharp mix of electronic and alt sounds.

This isn’t a sprawling multi-stage festival or a nosebleed-seat arena show. It’s a single-night experience, intentionally designed. Boutique, close-range, and high on detail. The venue’s been fully reworked to suit it: turf laid down over centre court, premium GA zones right up front, hospitality decks and lounges built where the old Robinson Stand once stood. There are no noise restrictions, no residential curfews, and no real weak spots when it comes to sightlines.

This year’s lineup leans into mood and movement. Headlining are electronic duo SACHI, fresh from a run of international sets and still riding the long tail of breakout singles like No More and Hold On. Their set promises high energy and a bit of homegrown flex, not many NZ acts can say they’ve played Tomorrowland.

Australia’s Bag Raiders also top the bill. Known best for Shooting Stars, one of those rare tracks that blew up, came back as a meme, then re-earned its place through club sets and remixes, their return to Aotearoa is well-timed. Their newer material, including 2025’s Love Me Back and Right Here / Saliba, leans heavier into the kind of refined, club-ready production that’s kept them relevant while many of their 2010s peers faded.

Then there’s NO CIGAR, Auckland’s indie-rock five-piece who’ve built a steady cult following through sold-out headline shows and a run of consistent, emotionally intelligent records. Their 2025 album Under the Surface pushed them into new territory, pairing groove-heavy instrumentals with that unmistakable Kiwi softness. They’re a smart addition to a lineup that needs less noise and more nuance.

Capacity caps at 3,000. There’s no second stage. The set times won’t overlap. That’s the point. This is a summer gig that doesn’t try to be everything, it focuses on doing one thing well. For fans looking to close out summer with a night that doesn’t sprawl, spasm or demand three days of recovery, Centre Court Sounds is quietly claiming its space.

Tickets go on sale Thursday 20 November at 9am via centrecourtsounds.flicket.co.nz. Earlybird prices start at $49 + fees — and they will go quickly.
