Flyte don’t make a lot of noise. They never have. The London duo of Will Taylor and Nick Hill have spent the better part of a decade quietly building one of the most devoted followings in British indie on the strength of their songwriting alone β and this November they’re bringing it to New Zealand for two very special shows.
The band play Auckland’s Tuning Fork on Friday 13 November and Wellington’s San Fran on Saturday 14 November β and for a band whose live show is as intimate and precise as their records, both venues feel exactly right.
Their most recent albumΒ Between You and Me, produced by Ethan Johns and released last year, is their finest work yet β raw, direct and emotionally unflinching in a way that rewards close listening. It follows a run of records that have earned them collaborations with Laura Marling, Billie Marten, Madison Cunningham, The Staves and Aimee Mann, and fans in Sigrid and Holly Humberstone. The kind of peer respect that tends to mean more than any chart position.
These are rare shows and small venues. Presale opens Wednesday 20 May at 10am NZST, with general public tickets available from Friday 22 May.
