Funeral For A Friend Announced as 2000trees 2026 Headliners

The Welsh emo legends will headline on the Friday night, joining Alkaline Trio and Glassjaw on an already jaw-dropping bill. Fronted by Lucas Woodland from Holding Absence, this Funeral For A Friend set is shaping up to be an emotional riot, a celebration of 25 years of a band that still means everything to a certain generation of UK rock fans.

If there’s one thing you can count on every summer, it’s that 2000trees Festival will quietly drop a lineup so stacked it makes everyone else’s look like an afterthought. And this year? They’ve outdone themselves.

The 2026 edition of the award-winning festival, taking place 8th to 11th July at its home on Upcote Farm near Cheltenham, has just announced its second main-stage headliner, and it’s a serious one: Funeral For A Friend are officially back at Trees for the first time in over 13 years, playing their only UK show of the year. That’s right, exclusive. If you were the kid in a hoodie screaming “Juneau” in 2003, your time has come full circle.

And the good news doesn’t stop there. Joining the lineup are festival exclusives The Bronx and their alter-ego Mariachi El Bronx, both ready to deliver that sweaty, sun-drenched chaos only Trees can handle. The freshly reformed Marmozetsand Arcane Roots are also in, with the latter bringing an acoustic set too, pure nostalgia meets goosebumps.

The lineup continues to read like a greatest hits of the alternative scene. There’s LA punk energy from Militarie Gun, Dublin fire from The Scratch, chaotic brilliance from Petrol Girls, and soul-charged vocals from Anthony Green. Add to that The Skints, As Everything Unfolds, Dead Pioneers, A, and dozens more, and you’ve got one of the most well-balanced Trees lineups in years, heavy, heartfelt, and full of attitude.

Festival organiser James Scarlett called it a dream booking, and honestly, it’s easy to see why. Funeral For A Friend aren’t just another nostalgia act; they’re the emotional backbone of UK emo and post-hardcore, and having them headline a festival that’s always championed community, integrity and chaos just makes sense. You can already picture it: that golden Trees sunset, the opening riff of “Roses for the Dead”, and a crowd absolutely losing it.

Elsewhere, Wednesday’s full lineup has also dropped, with PUP confirmed as the first-night headliners, which means from the jump, Trees 2026 is setting a ridiculous tone. Across the weekend you’ll also catch High Vis, Lambrini Girls, Ho99o9, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Cancer Bats (and their alter ego Bat Sabbath), Bad Nerves, Banks Arcade, carolesdaughter, and so many more.

It’s the kind of lineup that makes you want to dust off your old band tees, plan a road trip, and remember why British festivals still absolutely get it right. Between the exclusives, the reunions and the homegrown heroes, 2000trees 2026 feels like the perfect mix of nostalgia and next-gen noise.

Grab your tickets, they’re on sale now, and start planning your four days of mud, mosh pits and pure music joy. Because honestly? There’s no summer quite like a 2000trees summer.
