Mayday Parade continue their 20th anniversary celebrations with One Day At A Time, a reflective, emotionally layered single taken from Sad, the second album in their anniversary trilogy, released on 3 October.

The track is a slow-burning, bittersweet piece of classic Mayday Parade melancholy, full of introspective lyrics and soaring choruses that lean into the band’s emo-pop roots. According to guitarist Brooks Betts, the song is “about growing through life and getting better as you go… correcting the past mistakes and understanding that life changes and evolves.” It’s a fitting sentiment for a band looking back while still pushing forward.

One Day At A Time follows Under My Sweater, a fan-favourite single that threw things back to early 2000s pop-punk with zero hesitation, all crunchy guitars, emotional honesty, and just the right dose of angst. Both tracks feature on Sad, which sees the band reunite with longtime producers Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount and lean deeper into atmosphere without losing the sharp hooks and heartfelt writing that have made them scene staples since 2005.

The release is part of a larger three-part project marking the band’s two decades together, with Sad arriving as the second instalment of the trilogy. With over 1.43 billion streams, multiple Platinum and Gold singles, and a fanbase that’s followed them through every era, Mayday Parade’s legacy is far from finished.

They’ve recently wrapped the Australia and Asia legs of their tour and are currently in the middle of a massive US run alongside All Time Low, including festival appearances at When We Were Young in Las Vegas, before heading to the UK and Europe in early 2026.
