One Republic stood together

OneRepublic have gone full anime for the third time, and fans are loving it. Today, the GRAMMY®-nominated pop-rock heavyweights dropped ‘Beautiful Colors (from Kaiju No.8)’, the ending theme for season two of the hit Japanese anime.

It follows their earlier Kaiju No.8 tracks ‘Invincible’ and ‘Nobody’, which together have amassed over 500 million streams.

A Cinematic, Heartfelt Finale

‘Beautiful Colors’ is pure OneRepublic in widescreen, soaring vocals from Ryan Tedder, shimmering guitars, and an emotional build designed to hit right in the feels as the credits roll. While it’s tailored for the anime’s storyline, it’s the kind of track that will land just as hard on your Spotify playlists as it will in Kaiju No.8.

OneRepublic: Still in Their Global Hit Era

With over 5 billion Spotify streams, OneRepublic have been a global chart force since 2007’s Dreaming Out Loud, the album that gave us the 20-million-selling ‘Apologize’. Since then, they’ve delivered anthems like ‘Counting Stars’, ‘Good Life’, and ‘I Ain’t Worried’ from Top Gun: Maverick, which alone has over 3 billion streams.

Their most recent album, Artificial Paradise, landed earlier this year, and they’ve been collaborating left, right, and centre — from David Guetta to Kygo to Jelly Roll. And now? They’re heading back on the road for the Escape to Europe Tour 2025 and the Sweet Escape Tour 2026, joined by Swedish pop powerhouse Zara Larsson.

Anime x Pop-Rock: Why It Works

OneRepublic aren’t the first Western act to lend their sound to anime, but they’ve made it a habit, and it works because their songs lean into cinematic emotion. Kaiju No.8’s huge action sequences and emotional arcs fit perfectly with their brand of epic pop-rock. Whether you’re a hardcore anime fan or just here for the bangers, ‘Beautiful Colors’ is proof this collab is no gimmick.
