If you ever needed proof that The Lemon Twigs are currently operating at a level most bands only dream of, look no further than the origin of their latest single. Brian D’Addario literally dreamt the chorus for ‘2 or 3’ while on tour in Buenos Aires, waking up with a fully-formed hook about a man struggling to keep up with his more cultured girlfriend.
It’s a bouncy, optimistic slice of power-pop that masks a slightly more neurotic core. While the melody feels like a lost 60s classic, the upcoming album—titled Look For Your Mind!—promises a bit of edge. Set for release on 8th May via Captured Tracks, the record explores themes of paranoia and the struggle to keep one’s sanity in a chaotic world.
For the first time, the brothers have opened up their studio process, bringing in live members Reza Matin and Danny Ayala, alongside Eva Chambers. It marks a shift from their usual “do-it-all” approach, and the result feels more vital and disciplined than ever. It follows a prolific run that saw 2024’s A Dream Is All We Know and 2023’s Everything Harmonycement them as the premier songwriters of their generation.
The best way to experience the Twigs, however, is live. They’ve just confirmed a massive string of UK and Ireland dates for May 2026. They’ll be taking over venues like London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and doing a double-header at the legendary Brudenell Social Club in Leeds.
Tickets are on sale now, and given their reputation for harmonised, high-energy performances, you won’t want to hang about.
