Heavy granite and industrial gloom: Glasswaves unleash visceral ‘doomed:2:DIE’ video

Rochester dark-pop rock trio Glasswaves drop their crushing, industrial-influenced new single 'doomed:2:DIE', pairing hypnotic electronic verses with heavy, granite-like breakdowns.

Fresh from joining the global roster at heavy music powerhouse SharpTone Records, Rochester, New York trio Glasswaves have unleashed their chaotic, industrially-tinged new single, ‘doomed:2:DIE’. The track arrives alongside a striking new music video that perfectly captures the band’s unique intersection of electronic dark-pop and crushing alternative rock.

The single is built on a foundation of sharp contrasts. It opens with hushed, claustrophobic vocal tones and pulsing electronic beats designed to get rooms moving, before violently pivoting into rhythmic breakdowns that hit with the weight of a slab of granite. It is a sonic representation of panic, capturing a very specific kind of psychological dread.

“‘doomed:2:DIE’ is what it feels like when your body is convinced it’s dying, but your mind is trapped there to watch it happen,” explains frontman Noah Duarte.

Formed in May 2023, the lineup completed by guitarist Owen Miller and bassist Brendan Curtis, has spent its short time together systematically obliterating genre boundaries. They have quickly earned a reputation for pairing atmospheric, cinematic melodies with sudden bursts of raw aggression. When you couple that sonic versatility with their signature “war paint” stage aesthetic, Glasswaves have engineered a live show that feels entirely immersive and visceral.

The industry is already paying close attention. In 2025, the band took home the grand prize at the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, earning themselves a coveted main stage performance at Warped Tour. They backed up that milestone with a relentless work ethic, grinding out nearly 60 shows and spending close to 80 days on the road in a single year to sharpen their live reputation.

Following on from the glitchy, gloomy momentum of their previous single ‘fvck.me.up.’, ‘doomed:2:DIE’ proves that Glasswaves have no intention of playing it safe. Now backed by SharpTone, the New York outfit are setting a formidable benchmark for the modern alternative and heavy music spaces.
