Mumford & Sons Drop New Single with Hozier and Announce Album Prizefighter

Marcus Mumford puts it plainly: “We’re putting everything we have into this. ” And that sentiment rings loud in the music. After years of redefining who they are, this feels like the band fully stepping into themselves, confident, collaborative, and still hungry for more.

Mumford & Sons are back again. Just seven months after the release of Rushmere, the band have announced their sixth studio album Prizefighter, due out 13th February 2026 via Island Records. And if you thought they might be slowing down, think again. This one’s brimming with new collaborations, fresh energy, and a full-circle sense of rediscovery, all tied together with a UK and European arena tour this November and December.

Lead single “Rubber Band Man”, featuring the unmistakable voice of Hozier, is out now and already hinting at the emotional weight and power this new record’s packing. Recorded at Aaron Dessner’s Long Pond Studio in upstate New York (yes, that Aaron Dessner of The National and Taylor Swift folklore fame), the track sets the tone: rugged, rich, and unafraid to stretch the band’s sonic boundaries.

For fans of Wilder Mind, this marks a welcome return to Dessner’s co-producing influence. But Prizefighter feels looser, more instinctive, a product of ten intense, unfiltered days of writing that sees Marcus, Ben, and Ted reconnecting with the joy of simply making music together again. These are first-take, heart-on-sleeve tracks that play like letters to old selves and future friends alike.

The full album features some weighty guest stars, Gracie Abrams, Chris Stapleton, Aaron Dessner, and rising artist Gigi Perez all make appearances, adding new shades to the band’s already expansive sound. From “Icarus” to “Conversation With My Son,” the tracklist promises moments of bruised reflection, lyrical storytelling, and the kind of melodic catharsis Mumford & Sons have always done best.

Marcus Mumford puts it plainly: “We’re putting everything we have into this. Prizefighter is us going for it, serious and playful, sometimes bruised and always hopeful.” And that sentiment rings loud in the music. After years of redefining who they are, this feels like the band fully stepping into themselves, confident, collaborative, and still hungry for more.

The upcoming 2025/26 tour sees the band joined by Sierra Ferrell and includes stops in Newcastle, Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham, Cardiff, and two nights at London’s O2 Arena, a run that’s already seen massive demand across Europe. You can grab remaining tickets now at mumfordandsons.com.

Prizefighter might be the band’s sixth album, but it reads like a new chapter, one written in bold strokes, big feelings, and even bigger melodies. If Rushmere was the spark, Prizefighter is the fire.
