Neon lights and 90s nostalgia: Sheffield duo Skyracer announce debut album ‘Skyracer V1.0’

Following a string of highly praised singles, rapidly growing streaming numbers, and a massive UK tour supporting synth-rock heavyweights LeBrock, Sheffield duo Skyracer have officially revealed the details of their debut full-length album. Titled Skyracer V1.0, the record is set to drop on 24 July 2026, marking a massive milestone for the lifelong friends.

Comprising Dan Fox and Chris Brayshaw, Skyracer have spent the last few years quietly constructing a distinct, cinematic pop-rock universe. Heavily rooted in late-night conversations, 90s nostalgia, and the complex realities of growing older without losing your inner kid, their signature sound sits in a sweet spot that bridges generations. By blending the driving guitar energy of pop-punk with shimmering, retro synths, the pair have earned easy comparisons to the likes of The Ataris, The Midnight, Boys Like Girls, and Busted.

Skyracer V1.0 acts as a complete blueprint of their journey so far, pulling together eight previously released singles alongside three brand-new, unheard tracks. The 11-song tracklist tackles the heavy themes of identity, friendship, ambition, and loss. Listeners can expect to navigate the neon-lit romance of ‘Under The Lights’, the reflective melancholy of ‘We’ve Been Alive’, the explosive sonic tension of ‘Los Alamos’, and the end-of-the-world optimism of ‘Last Token’. Ultimately, it plays out like the soundtrack to a late-night drive home, leaning heavily into the moments and people that shape us.

“We never set out with a grand plan,” the band says of the record’s natural evolution. “We just got together every week, cooked food, hung out, and made the kind of music we wished existed when we were growing up. Looking back, these songs tell the story of who we were, who we are now, and the things we’ve held on to and lost along the way.”

The album also features a couple of heavy-hitting collaborations, including ‘Drenched In Blood’ featuring House Of Serpents & JAH, alongside ‘I’ll Be Better’ with Sweet Little Machine.
