When the Ain’t Enough Road tour rolled into New Zealand, fans expected a hit-filled night. What they got instead was a masterclass in stage presence, a surprise guitar-shredding hero, and a deeply personal look into the lives of two of country music’s fastest-rising stars.

Tucker Wetmore: The Support Act Who Owned the Room
Tucker Wetmore is a name you’ll be seeing at the top of festival posters very soon. From the second he stepped out, he utilized the stage walkway as if he owned it, getting right into the thick of the crowd. He proved he’s more than a viral sensation, delivering powerhouse vocals on hits like “Wind Up Missin’ You,” “Proving Me Right,” and the grit-soaked “Wine Into Whiskey.”

The connection between Tucker and the Kiwi crowd was instant, culminating in a heartfelt moment where he addressed the arena:

“Man, I started touring less than two years ago and now I’m traveling the world… thank you for such a great first New Zealand experience. I promise you, I will be back.”
Jordan Davis: “I’m a Sinner, Not a Preacher”
When Jordan Davis took the stage, the energy shifted from a party to a full-blown event. Opening with high-octane tracks like “Turn This Truck Around” and “Bar None,” Jordan made sure every inch of that walkway was used to connect with fans. At one point, he even paused to share a shot with an audience member, cementing the “bar-room with 20,000 friends” vibe.
But between the anthems like “Singles You Up” and “Almost Maybes,” Davis opened up about the pillars of his life: Faith, Family, and Friends. He spoke fondly of his children, specifically his son Locklan, joking that his mum says the boy is “just like Jordan” was growing up, a wild spirit he channeled into a moving performance of “Son of a Gun.”

He also paid tribute to his roots, reminiscing about his grandfather’s old Chevy truck, which always had a Bible sitting in the middle of the seat, before playing a soulful rendition of “Church in a Chevy.”
Collaboration and a Surprise Hero
The night was packed with collaborative energy. Tucker Wetmore returned to the stage to lead a roaring rendition of “Wagon Wheel,” with Jordan admitting Tucker might actually “sing this one a little bit better.” This followed a diverse run of covers, including James Bay’s “Let It Go” and Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over.”
However, the biggest surprise was Jordan’s guitarist, Jonathan. Jordan teased the crowd, saying, “He’s not that good… but if I don’t let him sing, I’ll have to hear about it for two weeks.” The crowd took the bait, chanting Jonathan’s name until he launched into “Mr. Brightside.” To the delight of the “alive” crowd, Jonathan was phenomenal, sparking one of the biggest sing-alongs of the night.
The Power of “Buy Dirt”
Before closing the night, Jordan gave a raw, vulnerable confession that hushed the arena:
“I’m not a preacher, I’m a sinner. I’m a husband and a father ahead of being a singer. I never would have dreamed in a million years that a song about dirt would have done what it did.”

As he played “Buy Dirt,” the thousands of voices singing back proved that his message of faith and family hit home. Finishing on the high of “What My World Spins Around,” it was clear: Jordan Davis and Tucker Wetmore didn’t just play a show; they made everyone in the room feel like part of the family.
