Fontaines D.C. have gone from arena tour to full stadium takeover in the space of a week, and Manchester just got a second night out of it.
The Irish band’s 2027 outdoor and stadium run already had Heaton Park down for Saturday 3 July. On 8 September, they added a second date, Sunday 4 July, after what promoters are calling “phenomenal demand.” It’s the same story that’s followed this tour since it was announced: the band’s 2026 arena tour, including a AO Arena Manchester date in November, has been selling out around the same window.
The full run now looks like this: Slane Castle, Ireland (26–27 June); Blackweir Fields, Cardiff (29 June); St James’ Park, Newcastle (1 July); Heaton Park, Manchester (3 & 4 July); Glasgow Green, Glasgow (6 July); and London Stadium, London (9 July). Little Simz and Viagra Boys support across the outdoor and stadium dates, with Hayley Williams, Damien Dempsey and Madra Salach added to the Slane bill.
Ticket timing: artist presale ran Tuesday 8 September, and general sale opens Thursday 10 September at 10am BST.
The tour lands as the victory lap for Dopamine Chamber, the band’s new album due 16 October. Frontman Grian Chatten has described the record’s concept in characteristically blunt terms: “The album itself is a dopamine chamber. You step inside and we test these different mind or mood-altering pieces.” The band confirmed the Heaton Park addition themselves in a short, direct post: “Manchester. We’ve added a second date at Heaton Park on Sunday 4th July.”
What makes this run genuinely significant, rather than just another big tour announcement, is the venues themselves. London Stadium, St James’ Park, Glasgow Green: this is Fontaines D.C.’s first run at full stadium and outdoor headline scale, a step up from the arenas they’ve been filling through 2026. Pair that with a support bill that includes a Mercury Prize winner in Little Simz, and this isn’t a tour padded out to look bigger than it is. It’s a genuine step up in where the band sits in UK music right now.
For anyone who missed the arena dates or wants to catch the new album live in full stadium mode, Thursday’s general sale is the one to have a reminder set for. Given how the last week has gone, one date becoming two inside days, we wouldn’t be shocked if Manchester isn’t the only city that ends up adding a second night before this is done.
