Carly Rae Jepsen has confirmed her sixth studio album, Day and Night, for 18 September via Interscope Records. It’s a genuine double album: 24 tracks, split clean down the middle into two 12-track halves, one for each side of the title.
The ‘Day’ side draws on the sun-soaked, left-field pop of early singles ‘On Wires’ (out since June) and ‘After All’. ‘Night’ swings the other way entirely: forward-leaning, maximalist dance-pop, with ‘Motivation’ and ‘Don’t Leave Me on the Dance Floor’ giving the clearest preview yet of where that half is headed.
Jepsen has described the split as a deliberate structural choice rather than just a themed tracklist. ‘Exploring and dancing through two distinctly different landscapes,’ she wrote, calling Day ‘more open-eyed, organic and earthbound’ and Night ‘more escapist and even intense at times.’
The album was produced with Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert and Cole M.G.N., among others.
It’s Jepsen’s first album since 2022’s The Loneliest Time, and it lands off the back of a run that’s included two Grammy nominations for ‘Call Me Maybe’ back in 2012, the widely loved E•MO•TION in 2015, and 2019’s Dedicated. A 24-track double album, split this deliberately in two, reads less like another entry in the catalogue and more like Jepsen treating this one as a genuine centrepiece.
