Fresh off a massive run on regional radio charts, Auckland indie-rock and chamber-pop artist Evie Bamford has officially released her six-track debut EP, Now Rising, Now Falling.
Written over a three-year period of growth and mid-twenties transition, the EP blends lush instrumentation with candid reflections on anxiety, relationships, and self-worth. It follows her hit single “Daily Bread,” which claimed the #1 spot on the RadioScope Alternative Airplay Chart for two consecutive weeks, alongside top placements on 95bFM and RDU, and a #13 spot on the Official Aotearoa Music Charts Hot 20.
The EP’s focus track, “Your Girl,” closes the record on a dreamy, nostalgic high note.

“‘Your Girl’ was the only song I wrote after I had formed the band,” Bamford shares. “It is dramatic and dense, has heaps of modulations, and hopefully makes listeners feel like something beautiful is swelling up inside them.”
To celebrate the release, Bamford is taking her live band—featuring Jeremy Richardson, Hugo Butler, and Rory Johns—on a three-date North Island tour this September and October. The headline show at Auckland’s Whammy Bar promises an expanded ensemble featuring live cello, trombone, flute, and saxophone.
