UK singer-songwriter Jake Bugg is officially back, announcing his seventh studio album, Alamo, set for release on November 13th. Marking his debut release with label Thirty Tigers, the 32-year-old artist has stripped away the gloss for an intimate, country-tinged return to his folk roots.
Accompanying the record’s announcement is lead single “Never Can Tell,” out now alongside an official lyric video. To celebrate the album, Bugg will also hit the road in early 2027 for an extensive, stripped-back solo tour across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
Produced by multi-Grammy-winning longtime collaborator Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini) alongside Steve McKewan (Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood), Alamo is an 11-track collection exploring themes of isolation, love, and self-reflection.
Departing from polished indie-pop experiments of recent years, the album highlights pure country and folk arrangements, drawing sonic inspiration from Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen.
“After all the years of touring and making records, it just felt like the right time to look inward. The last couple of years have been tough for me and I’ve had a lot of struggles,” Bugg revealed. “‘Alamo’ was only going to work if I was going to be honest and be as vulnerable as possible. I’ve always had a lot of defenses and barriers around me. I thought it was time to bring those down.”
The lead cut, “Never Can Tell,” is a guitar-driven anthem tackling the difficulties of trust that follow success. Other key album tracks include the finger-picked opener “When The Night,” the introspective “Day By Day,” and the emotionally candid “Cloud In The Sky.”
2027 UK & Ireland Solo Tour Dates
Before embarking on his 2027 solo run, Bugg will headline Musicians Corner in Centennial Park on September 18th as part of Nashville’s Americana Fest.
The 10-date UK and Ireland leg kicks off at Manchester’s Albert Hall in February 2027, including a hometown performance at Nottingham Royal Concert Hall and a finale at London’s iconic Union Chapel.
