Primal Scream Are Playing XTRMNTR in Full Across the UK This September

One of British rock's most iconic albums gets a full live run this September, and tickets are on sale Friday.

Primal Scream have announced The XTRMNTR Tour, a seven-date UK headline run this September that will see the band perform their era-defining 2000 album in its entirety. Tickets go on sale Friday April 17 at 10am from primalscream.net.

The tour opens with two nights at Glasgow’s Barrowland on September 3 and 4 — a homecoming in every sense — before heading to Newcastle’s NX on September 8, Nottingham’s Rock City on September 9, New Century Hall in Manchester on September 11, Electric in Bristol on September 13, and wrapping at HERE at Outernet in London on September 15.

The demand for this tour has been building since last year’s special 25th anniversary performance of XTRMNTR at London’s Roundhouse, which Clash described as “more prescient, urgent and needed than ever.” That description still holds. An album built from noise, fury and political urgency, XTRMNTR arrived in 2000 and sounded unlike anything else. In 2026 it sounds, if anything, more relevant than it did then.

The tour follows Primal Scream’s Come Ahead world tour, which took their acclaimed 12th studio album — released in November 2024 to five-star reviews and genuine critical enthusiasm — across the UK, Europe, South America, Japan and Australia. MOJO called it “up there with Primal Scream’s best.” The London Standard gave it album of the year. DIY called the tour “a career-spanning party.”

Also announced today are the first details of The Bunker Trilogy — a special collection of expanded reissues of Vanishing Point, XTRMNTR and Evil Heat, three of the band’s most revered and experimental records. More details to follow, but if you’re a Primal Scream fan this is already shaping up to be a very significant year.

Outside the band, Bobby Gillespie remains extraordinarily prolific — his 2021 memoir Tenement Kid won the NME Award for Best Music Book, he co-wrote with Paul Weller, recorded an entire album of duets with Jehnny Beth, collaborated with acid house duo Paranoid London, composed his first film soundtrack and sang on six tracks of Peter Perrett’s new album. The man does not sit still.

Tickets on sale Friday April 17 at 10am from primalscream.net.
