Movements Unleash Frantic New Single “Live By The Sword” Ahead of Fourth Album Happier Now

Movements return with their tension-filled new single 'Live By The Sword' and detail their fourth studio album Happier Now, arriving September 4 via Fearless Records.

Southern California post-hardcore mainstays Movements have unveiled their raw new single “Live By The Sword,” complete with an accompanying music video. The track serves as the latest preview of the band’s fourth studio album, Happier Now, arriving on September 4 via Fearless Records.

“Live By The Sword” captures the band at their most sonically frantic. Driven by guitar-forward motion, hushed vocal chants, and the signature mid-tempo tension that has become a defining hallmark of their sound, the track delivers a clanging, cathartic burst of energy.

Produced by Grammy-winner Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight, Circa Survive), Happier Now acts as a full-circle moment for the quartet. The 12-track record intentionally bridges the gritty urgency of their early catalogue with the refined, melodically focused direction of 2023’s RUCKUS!.

Speaking on the creative vision for the album, vocalist Patrick Miranda shared:

“I think at first we weren’t really sure what the record was going to be. We all had a general idea: We wanted it to bring in the early elements of our sound and blend it with the newer material like RUCKUS! and mesh both of those sounds.”

The new single follows earlier album teasers “Dissolve Me” and “Back In My Ways,” which served as the sonic guides for the recording sessions. Happier Now is available for pre-order now in various formats.
