In a monumental achievement for British pop music history, Sam Fender and Olivia Dean have officially broken the record for the longest-running Number One single in UK Official Chart history.
Their hit collaboration, “Rein Me In,” has claimed its 19th non-consecutive week at Number One, surpassing a landmark that has stood untouched for more than seven decades.
Surpassing a 73-Year Benchmark
The record was previously held by legendary American singer Frankie Laine, whose 1953 classic “I Believe” accumulated 18 non-consecutive weeks at the summit. Fender and Dean’s duet has now officially eclipsed that 73-year-old achievement to claim the top spot in the chart’s history books.
