THE ENTITLED SONS DROP RAW NEW SINGLE ‘EPITAPH (NOT THERE)’ AS INDIE BREAKOUTS LAUNCH UK RECORD STORE TOUR

Independent rock breakout band The Entitled Sons have released their emotionally raw new single 'Epitaph (Not There)' alongside launching an intimate UK record store tour ahead of a major winter headline show at Frome's Cheese & Grain.

The Entitled Sons have officially unveiled their rawest material to date. The rising independent rock outfit have released their brand new single, ‘Epitaph (Not There)’, a heart-wrenching track that sees the band trading their usual raucous energy for a stripped-back, emotionally devastating slow-burn. Led by frontman Charlie Swift’s soaring, vulnerable vocals, the song builds from a quiet, stark opening into a towering, commanding crescendo. It marks a poignant gear-shift for the five-piece, who have spent the last year rapidly transitioning from viral sensations into one of the UK’s most formidable self-made live rock acts.

Written from a place of deep personal trauma, the band have made it clear that the track is the most important piece of music they have put their name to so far. The band expanded on the track’s heavy lyrical themes, explaining that it explores the specific, ordinary guilt of the people left behind who thought they were paying attention, but who now realise they could have done more.

“We write songs from personal experience. We wish we hadn’t had the material to do this one. ‘Epitaph (Not There)’ doesn’t try to make sense of what happened. It doesn’t offer resolution or redemption. It sits in the place most songs won’t go.” — The Entitled Sons

Hot on the heels of a chaotic, packed-out appearance at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, the band are immediately hitting the road to bring the single directly to fans. Starting this weekend, The Entitled Sons are embarking on a special, intimate UK record store tour. The run features a mix of free afternoon sets and limited ticketed appearances, where the band will perform stripped-back versions of their music and sit down for live Q&As.

The live momentum doesn’t stop with the instores. The band have also announced a massive headline show at Frome’s legendary venue, The Cheese & Grain, locked in for 20 November. Tickets are on sale now, with a wider winter tour routing expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

It caps off an astronomical rise for the completely independent band. Since winning the Glastonbury Pilton Stage Competition, they have independently released their debut album No Clue, screen-printed their own merchandise, and graduated from viral internet fame to headlining massive rooms like the O2 Academy Bristol and London’s historic O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
