Exactly six months ago, nobody knew who December 10 were. Today, they are quite easily the most talked-about new pop group in Britain. To celebrate their half-year milestone, the seven-piece septet—who famously formed under the watchful eye of the cameras on Netflix’s Simon Cowell: The Next Act—have officially announced the details of their debut EP, On Your Side. Landing on 10 July via EMI Records, the collection is dropping on streaming platforms alongside physical releases on cassette, CD, and limited-edition vinyl.
If you caught them over the weekend at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium, you will already have a taste of what they can do live. But the studio material is pulling out some seriously heavy hitters. The EP was recorded across L.A., London, Nashville, and Stockholm, boasting a production line-up that includes Julian Bunetta (Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams), Poo Bear (Justin Bieber), and Savan Kotecha (Ariana Grande). Alongside familiar singles like ‘Run My Way’ and ‘Infinity (123)’, the tracklist introduces three brand-new songs, plus a couple of stripped-back versions that promise to showcase their actual musical chops—the group famously play 14 instruments between them.
The announcement acts as the perfect warm-up for their massive The Next Step UK and European headline tour, which kicks off in Amsterdam on 26 June. By the time the EP drops on 10 July, the boys will be playing a sold-out homecoming run starting at Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms, before hitting venues like Liverpool’s O2 Academy and wrapping up a double-night residency at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Most dates are already completely sold out, but if you’re quick, you might still grab the final few tickets for their shows in Belfast or Berlin.
